Thanks from Iceland

As president of the Icelandic Paralympic Committee I’m very proud of the very successful IPC European Swimming Championships that took place here in Reykjavik in the past days. Having all the new World and European records, shows that everything has been in place to make the games as good as they became; the athletes, the pool, the staff and volunteers.

I want to thank everyone that participated in the 2009 IPC European Swimming Championships for their contribution in making the games unforgettable. Especially, I would like to use this opportunity to express my thanks to the Meet Manager Gústaf Adolf Hjaltason and his staff, the referees and all the volunteers that made this possible.

I would also like to thank IPC for their contribution to the games.

And last but not least, I want to thank the staff and board members of the Icelandic Paralympic Committee, their commitment to the games passed all boundaries.

I trust and hope that you all brought home with you, good and happy memories from this big event.

Sveinn Áki Lúðvíksson
President of NPC Iceland
