Áriđ 2001 kom Amanda Boxtel til Íslands ásamt skíđakennurum frá Challenge Aspen en ÍF og VMÍ hófu samstarf viđ Challenge Aspen í ţeim tilgangi ađ efla vetraríţróttir fatlađra á Íslandi. 

Amanda lamađist í skíđaslysi og hefur veriđ í hjólastól síđan ţá.  Eftir slysiđ hélt hún áfram ađ stunda skíđi og stofnađi Challenge Aspen, fyrirtćki sem sérhćfir  sig í útivist og vetraríţróttum fyrir fatlađa. 

Amanda er međ gífurlegan baráttuvilja og ćtlar sér ađ standa upp aftur.   Hún hefur sótt sérhćfđa međferđ til Indlands en margir hafa efast um ţessa baráttu hennar og haft áhyggjur af óraunhćfum vćntingum.
